1. Introduction

Welcome to PINCUE ("PINCUE", "we", "us", or "our"). We operate the website located at getpincue.com and any related applications or services (collectively, the "Service").

We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. Please read this policy carefully before using our Service.

By accessing or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms described here, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Who We Are

PINCUE is operated as a solo-founder software product. For all privacy-related matters, the data controller is:

  • Profile information you choose to add
  • Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback, etc.)
  • Payment information processed securely through our payment provider (we do not store full card details)
  • Any content or data you create, upload, or store while using the Service

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data: IP address, pages visited, time and date of visits, referring URLs
  • Usage data: features used, actions taken within the Service, session duration
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3.3 Information from Third Parties

  • If you sign in via a third-party service (e.g. Google, GitHub), we receive basic profile information such as your name and email address
  • Payment processors may share transaction confirmation data with us

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • To create and manage your account
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To send you transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, receipts)
  • To respond to your support requests and enquiries
  • To send product updates and service announcements (you can opt out at any time)
  • To analyse usage patterns and improve the Service
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • To comply with our legal obligations

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction subject to equivalent data protection law, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: processing necessary to provide the Service you have signed up for
  • Legitimate interests: improving our Service, preventing fraud, and maintaining security
  • Consent: where you have explicitly opted in (e.g. marketing emails) — you may withdraw consent at any time
  • Legal obligation: where we are required by law to process your data

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect your information.

Provider Purpose
VercelHosting and infrastructure
SupabaseDatabase and authentication
StripePayment processing
ResendTransactional email
PostHogProduct analytics

6.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or in response to valid legal process (e.g. a court order or subpoena), or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of PINCUE, our users, or the public.

6.3 Business Transfers

If PINCUE is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a notice on the Service before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the Service. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use the following types:

  • Essential cookies: required for the Service to function (e.g. authentication sessions)
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how users interact with the Service (e.g. PostHog)
  • Preference cookies: remember your settings and preferences

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect your ability to use certain features. We do not serve advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.

The Pincue Chrome Extension uses chrome.storage.local — not browser cookies — to persist session state and authentication tokens locally on your device.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We also retain data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain it longer. Some residual data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion.

For Free users, all session data exists only in your browser's local storage and is cleared automatically when you close the extension panel.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Access controls limiting who can access user data
  • Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data
  • Passwords hashed with bcrypt — never stored in plain text

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

PINCUE is primarily based in Ireland and the European Economic Area. Some of our service providers may process data outside the EEA. Where this is the case, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure: request that we delete your personal data (subject to certain legal exceptions)
  • Right to restriction: request that we limit how we process your data
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Right to object: object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time
  • Right to lodge a complaint: with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@getpincue.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

If you are based in Ireland or the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC) at www.dataprotection.ie.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us at privacy@getpincue.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

13. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (if you have an account) or by posting a prominent notice on the Service, and we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
